Los Angeles, CA - (FirearmsGuide.com) – The Streamlight Wedge EDC Pocket Light is a 300 – 1,000 lumens rechargeable flashlight designed for deep pocket carry for users who have work to do.
Recently I was testing the Fenix TK16 V2.0 Tactical Flashlight with 3100 Lumens. That flashlight is too powerful and too big for quick everyday carry for busy people that have work to do. What do I mean by that? We all like a super powerful flashlight. They are powered by one 21700 or two 18650 batteries and then the flashlight is too big for us to carry all the time. Result? Very often we are out there without a flashlight when we need one.
The Streamlight Wedge is designed exactly to avoid that problem. It is very thin (only 0.6” or 152mm), and designed for deep pocket carry. It slips into your pants pocket like a small folding knife. You can carry it in your shirt pocket just like a pen. Easy to carry, easy to recharge and even easier to use Wedge is a perfect workplace flashlight.

Now when we know all the tech specs we can quickly go through the best features of the Wedge:
1. Production & Design quality: After using it for two months I can honestly say that the Wedge is a top-quality product. Durable, rugged anodized aluminum construction combined with a tempered glass lens. It is IPX7 waterproof to 1m; 1m impact resistance tested. It is grooved for a sure grip. Only 0.6” or 152mm wide and 5.46” or 138.7 mm long and fits nicely and comfortably in my pants and shirt pockets. A deep pocket carry clip can be attached on either side so you can fit it the way it suits you. The Wedge is a small masterpiece and very pleasant to look at.
USB-C Cable is plugged in waterproof charging socket at the back of the Wedge. Plug it in your computer and it will be full in 3 hours.
2. Rechargeability: The Wedge is USB-C rechargeable so you don’t have to buy and change any batteries. Built-in 1500 lithium polymer battery charges in 3 hours. USB-C charging waterproof socket is positioned on the best place – at the very back of the Wedge. The charging cable is provided in the package. I like the USB-C cable and port because you don’t have to take care which side is up or down like with a standard USB cable. The only thing you have to do is plug in the provided USB-C cable and connect it to the USB port of your computer to charge it. A full charge will give you a full 3 hours of light and that is quite enough. The USB-C cable was always connected to my PC and I would connect the Wedge to it every time I would come back to work on my PC. Or you can charge it through your USB port in your car, or through your cell phone charger.
3. Light output: The Wedge delivers a 35-second burst of 1,000 lumens and 3,000 candela over a 110-meter beam distance on the THRO setting. In constant on mode, it provides 300 lumens at 69 meters for three hours. Only two modes. Good and strong mode. Not more. That simplicity is what makes the Wedge perfect flashlight for busy people. Please watch our video test below in the article to see how the Wedge works in both modes in total darkness. Only two modes.
Check tempered glass lens and rotating thumb switch on the picture above
4. Controls: The Wedge is outfitted with an intuitive rotating thumb switch that provides tactile control over the constant-on and THRO (Temporarily Heightened Regulated Output) modes. When you need stronger light you just push it with your thumb and you are instantly in THRO mode with 1,000 lumens. When you done with it, just release your thumb and it will automatically go into constant-on 300 lumens mode. To turn it off just pull the switch back with your thumb. That rotating thumb switch is very effective and very intuitive. That switch makes the Wedge a super easy and fast flashlight to use and that is really important for people who have a job to do and no time to waste on figuring out how some flashlight works. The charging rotating thumb switch has a charge indication LED built. While you’re charging it will be lit red and once it is fully charged the light will switch to green. Again, simple and effective.

The Streamlight Wedge is not a flashlight for everyone and every situation. Probably not a flashlight for an Amazon jungle expedition. I admit that. But I am also sure that the Streamlight designed the Wedge for people who have work to do. For people who need a quick light on their job. Either you are police officer writing tickets in the dark, or you work in a warehouse, or you are a mechanic inspecting a car, or anyone that needs quick light, the Wedge is great flashlight for you.
