Los Angeles, CA - (FirearmsGuide.com) – The Tactacam 5.0 Hunting Action Camera and Long Range Shooter Package is a simple solution for recording 4K scope videos of your shooting/hunting.

I am spending a lot of time on Youtube managing the Firearms Guide’s channel and often I am watching hunting and pest control videos. I was always wondering how they have such nice hi-res scope cam videos that shows every moment of aiming and shooting that squirrel or pigeon. In slow mode you can even see the pellet flying through the air and hitting the target. So I researched the internet to find the equipment that they use and among just a few options on the market I picked one with the best quality/price ratio - Tactacam 5.0 Hunting Action Camera and Long Range Shooter Package.

Shooting squirrels will never be the same. Now you will have your shots on video

The Tactacam 5.0 Hunting Action Camera is something like a GoPro for the world of hunting and fishing. With specific mounts it can be mounted on your crossbow, compound bow or on your rifle and shotgun to record video of your shooting practice or hunt. New Image Stabilization Technology takes the “shock” out of the shot and lets you capture crystal clear footage in 4k while an improved 8x zoom will bring your target closer than ever. The question is always how to mount that camera behind your scope to record hi-quality videos in every situation and to keep a low profile of your gun.

The answer is the Tactacam 5.0 Long Range Shooter Package that has a scope & camera FTS (Film Through Scope) mount. The FTS mount is reversible for left/right hand so you can choose if you want to mount it on left or right side of your scope for easier control of the camera and filming. The FTS mount is actually the genius part in its simplicity and effectiveness. It is easy to mount it on most scopes and then you insert the Tactacam 5.0 cam, level it with the scope and screw the mount tight on the ocular of the scope. If there is extra space between the ocular of the scope and FTS mount, Tactacam provided 7 scope rings of different thickness. Your job is to find one that perfectly fills that extra space so that the FTS mount fits perfectly and after tightening stays perfectly on the scope through your whole hunt. When mounting the FTS mount you have to find that perfect position depending on the eye relief of your scope where you will have a clear picture both for your eye through the scope and on video. Once you find that position, tightly screw the mount with camera in it and you are done. Now you can charge the Tactacam battery via the cable and charger that are provided, insert your memory card and start filming.

One of these provided 7 scope rings will fit perfectly on your scope and then you can mount the FTS mount and Tactacam

In the future, every time you recharge the battery or download videos from the cam you can just unscrew the cap on the back of the Tactacam camera, plug in a cable from your computer and charge it while you're downloading videos. No need to remove the camera or take down the mount from your scope. That way the Tactacam will always be mounted on your rifle in the perfect position and be ready to go.

Now lets quickly go through most important points:

1. Production quality: Tactacam 5.0 Hunting Action Camera and Long Range Shooter Package are waterproof and built to the highest outdoor standards. I can see it working in every environment from Alaska to Africa, in rain, fog and heat.

2. Size and weight: Tactacam 5.0 Hunting Action Camera and Long Range Shooter Package together will add only 10.25 ozs onto your scoped rifle. Not too much for what you get – a lifetime memory of that hunt. Also, because of a good design solution this combo won’t add much onto the size of your rifle so you will be able to move through brush on your hunt the same way as if you don’t have it. This is not a fragile combo that is appropriate only for the shooting range use in controlled conditions. You can take this Tactacam combo in harsh hunting trips in any kind of weather without worrying at all.

3. Simplicity of use: The best feature of Tactacam is that, once mounted, the shooter/hunter looks directly through the scope and not through the camera or screen that has to be on. Tactacam has 3 modes of recording: Normal 4K, 8X zoom and slow-motion. It is easy to choose one you want to use. Tactacam is also very easy to operate in the field. Just press the start button and it is recording. When you're done recording just press the same button one time and it will stop. Press same button for 5 sec and it will shut down to save the battery. If you forget to shut it down it will automatically shut off after 3 min of inactivity to save the battery. For more advanced users there are Wi-Fi options, live streaming, Tactacam phone app, external battery indicator, HDMI/TV connection, remote controller that controls up to 5 Tactacams…but I am a simple user so I didn’t have any desire to use it on that level. I like the simplicity of use.

4. Video and Sound: Tactacam 5.0 can record 4k-30FPS, 1080p-120FPS, or 720p-240FPS! Another cool feature that the 5.0 has is the 8x zoom. While zooming in and out with your scope will increase/decrease magnification, you can also boost that by having the camera itself zoom it also. The microphone is waterproof and it really records sound with hi-quality. Video files that Tactacam records are MP4 files that every computer and video editing software plays without any problem.

So, our conclusion is that Tactacam is a great solution for every shooter/hunter that wants to record their hunting and shooting through the scope, or on a barrel, bow, or crossbow and post it on Youtube.
