Recently I was testing a few Tactical Flashlights with 3100 Lumens. That flashlight is too powerful and too big for quick everyday carry for busy people that have work to do. What do I mean by that? Now that we know all the tech specs we can quickly go through the best features of the Olight Arkfeld:

1. Production, Specs & Design quality: After using it for two weeks I can say that the Arkfeld is a high-quality product. The body of the Arkfeld is molded in one piece. It is slim and smooth, seamless and streamlined to the point that slips into your pocket like a hot knife in the butter. The body comes in 5 different colors so you will easily find the one that you like. My choice was bright orange. It looks good on the office table but it is also a high-visible color for your backpack and hiking trips. If I drop this orange EDC light into the tall grass, I’ll easily find it. The Arkfeld looks good so if you take it to the business meeting to be used as a green laser pointer in the project pitch you will look cool. On the other hand, if you backpacking or hiking in the mountain it will be a smart addition to your survival kit. It weighs only 3.07 oz (87 g) with a battery and it is only 0.98 in (25 mm) thick so it is designed to fits nicely and comfortably in your pants and shirt pockets. If you are an inspector, mechanic, construction builder, or something like that, and you need an EDC light and laser pointer then the Olight Arkfeld is a great EDC light for you. The Olight Arkfeld is IPX7 waterproof to 1m; 1m impact resistance tested. It has a deep pocket stainless-steel carry clip on one side that will secure it when you carry it in your jeans or shirt pocket. What we also like is the simplicity of the Arkfeld. The center button easily turns the Olight Arkfeld on/off and controls the white LED’s brightness and modes. With your thumb, you can quickly use the outer ring to select either a white LED or green beam pointer and you can do that even in total darkness, without a need to look at the flashlight to find controls like on many other lights. You need the light in total darkness but in that darkness, you can’t see where is control button. Not with the Arkfeld. Even in total darkness, when in your hand you know by the touch where is the control button and then you just rub it with your thumb ad the light or laser is on. 

2. Rechargeability: The Olight Arkfeld has a built-in 1050mAh Lithium Polymer Battery that is rechargeable so you don’t have to buy and change any batteries. Charging is easily done by an MCC3 magnetic charging cable that snaps easily onto the light’s tail. Built-in 1050 lithium polymer battery with a full charge will give you a full 2 hours of 300 lumens light and that is quite enough. 

3. Light output: The Olight Arkfeld delivers a maximum of 1,000 lumens for a 4-minute burst and 2,650 candelas over a 101-meter (331ft) beam distance on the Level 1 setting. In constant-on mode, it provides 300 lumens for two hours. The Olight Arkfeld has five light modes and a strobe and that is too much for me but some of you will like it.

If the five modes are too much for you, then it is good to know that the Olight Arkfeld can memorize the mode you used the last time when you turn the light back on, making your daily life easier and more convenient. That is a good thing because I like the simplicity of just two modes: high and low. Memorized last mode that automatically starts when the Arkfeld is turned on will help a lot. 1,000 lumens is enough for a such small light. It is not a spotlight for your search & rescue mission but it is enough light for exactly what it is made for – problem-solving & pointing in your everyday work area. 

4. Smart solutions: The Olight Arkfeld has a magnetic tail that can easily attach light onto any metal surface. If you working on the water heater or your car, just touch it with the tail of the Arkfeld and it will stick and stay fixed. Great solution when working and when you need a third hand. The Olight Arkfeld has a simple and effective battery level indicator positioned just under the control button. It has a 5-level power display that is always visible so you will always know the status of your battery charge. Simple and effective. The green pointer that is built in the Arkfeld is a great tool to point out anything to your coworkers or a friend, in the office or the field. It is also a great toy to drive your cat crazy or to just play with it in the darknet of the room or at your campsite. 

The Olight Arkfeld is not a flashlight for everyone and every situation. Probably not a flashlight for an Amazon jungle expedition. I admit that. Simply, the Olight Arkfeld is made for working people….wearing white or blue collars. Sometimes they will need just a light, other times they need to point something with a green laser pointer to a coworker and that is where the Olight Arkfeld shines.
