(FirearmsGuide.com) Newington, NH (June 6, 2016) - SIG SAUER, Inc., is pleased to announced that the company accepted two National Rifle Association (NRA) Golden Bullseye Awards during the recent NRA Annual Meetings & Exhibits in Louisville, Kentucky. During a special banquet held inside the Kentucky Exposition Center, American Rifleman magazine presented SIG SAUER with the Handgun of the Year award for its P320® modular handgun system. In addition, Shooting Illustrated magazine named the SIG SAUER Elite Performance V-Crown Ammunition as the Ammunition Product of the Year.

"On behalf of SIG SAUER, I would like to thank the experts at NRA Publications for awarding not just one, but two, highly coveted Golden Bullseye Awards to our firearms and ammunition divisions," said Tom Taylor, Chief Marketing Officer and Executive Vice President of Commercial Sales for SIG SAUER. "This accomplishment recognizes our commitment to expanding our product line and becoming the foremost complete weapon systems provider. Likewise, these awards acknowledge the talented workforce of men and women who take tremendous pride in developing the finest products available for military, law enforcement and responsible citizens."

During this year's 145th NRA Annual Meetings & Exhibits, thousands of NRA members visited the SIG SAUER booth to view the company's latest product offerings. Attendees waited in succession to get a first-hand look at the P320 series as well as the complete line of SIG SAUER Elite Performance Ammunition.  These NRA members were also among the first to view two new additions to the P320 family, with the unveiling of the P320 RX and P320 Target models.

The optics-ready P320 RX series - named for the SIG SAUER ROMEO reflex sight - will be available in a full-size and compact model. The P320 RX pistols will ship complete with a ROMEO1™ compact reflex sight mounted to the slide along with a set of raised suppressor sights that allow co-witnessing with the optic. The ROMEO1 features the SIG SAUER MOTAC™ (Motion Activated Illumination) system, which increases battery life by turning off the red dot when not in use, and instantly turning it on when the unit senses vibration or movement. Machined from a single billet of magnesium, the ROMEO1 is designed to offer a lifetime of reliability. Both models will be available with a two-tone or plain black finish.

The second new addition to the P320 line is the SIG SAUER P320 Target pistol. Engineered with a competitive focus, the P320 Target features a 5-inch barrel with a fiber optic front sight and a fully adjustable rear sight. The P320 Target model features a flat trigger design with improved take-up and reset along with an enhanced trigger pull. Other upgrades include a re-designed grip module with a more pronounced and higher beavertail.

The new grip module also features an undercut front strap, allowing shooters to maintain a high grip on the firearm and a weighted grip within the backstrap to further balance the pistol.

The P320 Target frame retains the same grip angle as the standard P320; however, it has a widened area on the bottom of the grip to allow for an oversized and flared, smoothed magwell. The P320 Target models utilize standard magazines, but have been updated with a classically styled flat base pad.
